Pump Month: February is Heart Health Month at Wayne HealthCare

At Wayne HealthCare, we are dedicated to keeping our community’s hearts healthy and thriving. This February, also known as Pump Month, we are celebrating Heart Health Month with a lineup of engaging, educational, and heart-focused events. From informative talks to hands-on activities, there is something for everyone!

What is Happening This Pump Month?

Wear Red Day – February 7
Show your support for women’s heart health by wearing red! Together, we can raise awareness and empower our community to take charge of their heart health.

Heart Art with Drab to Fab – February 13
Get creative while supporting a great cause! Join us for an evening of painting, wine, and heart health awareness. All proceeds benefit the Wayne HealthCare Foundation’s heart health programs.

Heart Health & Diabetes – February 11
Discover the connection between diabetes and heart health in this free program available in-person or virtually. Learn strategies to protect your heart while managing diabetes.

Join us for expert-led discussions on vital heart health topics:

• Heart Failure: Systolic vs. Diastolic Explained – February 4
• Atrial Fibrillation (AFib): Past, Present, and Future – February 18

Each presentation includes a complimentary meal at 5:30 PM, followed by the talk at 6:00 PM.

Heart-Healthy Cooking Demo – February 25
Learn how to prepare a delicious heart-healthy dish and sample it free!

Heart Healthy Jeopardy – February 18
Test your knowledge about heart health while having fun!

• Where: Chestnut Village Community Center

Community Blood Drive – February 27
Give back and help save lives. Donors will receive a special crewneck sweatshirt!

• Where: Wayne HealthCare Community Rooms

All Month Long

• Discounted Heart Health Screenings: Lipid Panel for $15 and EKG for $20 (no appointment needed).
• Free Blood Pressure Checks: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–3:00 PM at the Wayne HealthCare Wellness Center.

Why Heart Health Matters

Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the U.S., but it is preventable with lifestyle changes and regular check-ups. This month, we encourage everyone to focus on their heart health by:

• Eating a balanced diet low in sodium and saturated fats.
• Staying active with 150 minutes of exercise weekly.
• Managing chronic conditions like diabetes or high blood pressure.
• Avoiding smoking and excessive alcohol consumption.
