HOBBIES: Tennis, travel and spoiling my dog

REASON SELECTED FOR EOM: Dr. Buchanan made the effort to go to cafeteria to inquire about a Birthday cake for a patient that was having surgery on her birthday. This patient had some unfortunate health issues and may not have many birthdays left. She explained to me that “all the patient wanted after surgery was a birthday cake.” Dr. Buchanan’s compassion for this patient and willingness to do something “extra” for her is the true meaning of an “Employee of the Month.” The department celebrated with the patient and they are very proud to work alongside Dr. Buchanan!
