Cardiovascular Technician- PRN, Varied Shifts

This is a casual position working varied shifts in the Cardiopulmonary department. Shifts are scheduled based on the needs of the department. This position is under the direction and supervision of the Manager of Cardiopulmonary.

Qualifications:

• Current BLS Certification required within six months
• Previous hospital experience preferred
• Able to lift up to 25 pounds
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and other Microsoft products
• Proficient in computer documentation and operation

Responsibilities:

• Performs EKG’s, EEG’s Holter monitors, and Cardiac event monitors as scheduled.
• Assists physician in performing cardiac stress test by performing EKGs during stress test, taking blood pressures, monitoring patient, and reporting to physician as necessary during stress tests.
• Assists in preparing patient for cardiac stress testing as needed to include starting IV.
• Prepares and ensures proper function of syringe pump used for pharmacologic stress testing.
• Charges appropriately for cardiopulmonary tests performed in the department.
• Assists in filing and maintenance of test results kept in the Cardiopulmonary Department.
• Responds with appropriate equipment to Code Blue.
• All other duties, as assigned.
