VolunTEEN Program

About Being a VolunTEEN

This program is designed to help high school students (16 years of age and older) gain insights and experience into the fields of health care in the hospital setting.

Volunteering your time helps alleviate some simple job duties for staff, freeing them to do more critical work. Volunteering your time gives you information to make a sound decision of fields of study, and provides volunteer hours for college applications.

We have many great volunteer duties that a VolunTEEN can do! They will be in patient areas, helping to meet basic needs for the patients and their family members, like refilling water, getting beverages and snacks, reading or playing games with the patient, getting a new warm blanket, or extra pillows…you can stock and help with dietary supplies, put together discharge packets, and help with patient discharges. There will be other areas to volunteer in as well!

This program will be a summer only program and a limited number of spots to participate. We are looking for students who have completed their sophomore year of high school.
